Uses For An Outdoor Misting Fan

It’s over 100 degrees outside and there is no respite from the interminable heat. It’s a bad enough scenario for you personally but if you are a landowner with animals to keep alive it can be a life or death situation. Outdoor misting fans are used as a viable option to cool animals and humans on those brutally hot days when there isn’t a breath of a breeze to be had. When hooked up to a water source and switched on it uses a cooling method known as evaporative cooling to provide relief.

The water that is used to spray from multiple nozzles in front of the spinning fans is instantly atomized with the cool vapor left behind. It is this evaporative process that provides the cooling effect that we are looking for.

Outdoor Misting Fans On the Land

Landowners and farmers who experience regular bouts of extreme heat may have a lot of trouble keeping the body temperature of their livestock down. When you get a combination of high temperature and high humidity animals retain more heat than they can get rid of.

A standard type of fan would merely blow the hot air around the place without actually providing any cooling properties. With a fine mist of water dispersed by a heavy duty fan the result is a rapid cooling effect that is an immediate relief.

Even though the animals may be sheltered under trees or taken into a farm shed or barn, this can be not enough relief. Setting up an outdoor misting fan within the shade of a barn will provide exactly the kind of cooling that the livestock need to survive the conditions without distress.

Similarly animals that have been penned in close, confined quarters for necessary work may not survive the experience on some days if it were not for a well positioned outdoor misting fan.

Outdoor Misting Fans At Home

You don’t have to be hard at work to appreciate the cooling benefits of an outdoor misting fan. A casual BBQ with friends while sitting in a backyard patio can become unbearably hot in summer and would be the ideal setting for a cooling mist. This would be particularly welcome if you were the one operating the BBQ.

It may seem a little decadent to be using a fan like this outdoors and, indeed, if you lived in a city or state that observes tight water restriction regulations, your usage would be limited. But if you enjoy being outdoors and have the opportunity to sit in comfort rather than sweltering away, why not use an outdoor misting fan?

Outdoor Misting Fans At the Game

On those putridly hot days at football or baseball games you will often see large fans placed in the players' dugouts. These are outdoor misting fans that are used to provide relief to the players when they come off the field in an effort to bring their body temperature back down to a reasonable level.

It is a common sight to find these units at the early season football games before the temperatures have plunged into more winter-like. When players come off the field they head straight to the bench in front of a mister in a bid to get their body temperature back down before they have to take the field again.

Portable Outdoor Misting Fans

You don’t necessarily have to lug enormous industrial sized outdoor misting fans around with you if you want a little bit of personal comfort on a hot day. Now you can buy a portable outdoor misting fan that you can set up in your backyard to keep you cool while you work.

These fans are inexpensive but they are very effective for dramatically bringing the temperature down. For as little as $140.00 it is possible to get a 90 degree oscillation fan that is adjustable to work at 3 different speeds.

It doesn't matter what your cooling needs are, large or small, personal or industrial, there are outdoor misting fans that can provide the relief from the brutal heat to suit all situations. There is no need to suffer when you don't have to. Reasonable prices and an ability to operate in many locations these units will be a godsend on what would have otherwise be the most uncomfortable days.

Misting fans are also great for green houses. I have one in mine. It keeps plants that need moisture nice and wet during hot seasons. I love the one that I have.
